Here's my interpretation:

In the first instance, the guys are white-knighting the young woman, and the women and men are also primed by media stories about druggings of women to react to them. Nothing surprising there.

In the second instance, the guys at the bar don't care to white knight because they see no upside, plus, they may resent the guy for being rich, and are experiencing schadenfreude at the prospect of him getting rolled by some young woman he's trying to impress with money.

Finally, the woman speaks up and white knights for the guy because she has similar incentives to the men who were white knighting the girl. Maybe the rich guy will go out with her, or if she's taken, she'll at least feel some vicarious satisfaction.

Edit: Also, the men might have thought that nobody would take their word agains the young woman's. Note the hesitancy of the man in the second instance to speak up first, even though he notices it and has a more visceral reaction than the woman. He waits for the woman to say something first.

A guy I work with told me how some chick came up to him at a bar and told him not to drink his drink as it had been spiked.

Plot twist; She claims she was the one who spiked it, she thought it was his friends drink and dosed the wrong one by accident.

He's no oil painting, and he said she was a stunner so it made what was already an unlikely story absolutely unbelievable to security and management of the bar.

They wouldn't even check the cameras until after he had reported it at the police station.

I remember one decent woman trying to warn the man, while the 2 old guys were laughing about it. People are truly fucked up.

I hate to be a cynic but I don't think that would have happened if the date hadn't bought attention to herself in the first place by asking the other women how she looked.

The fucked up part is, if a fairly attractive woman is drugging a man's drink, he'd be LUCKY if all she was looking for was to know what it feels like to be the sexual abuser.

No, as always in real life, when a woman does something like that, it's always much, much worse than what a man does. If a woman drugs a man's drink, it's more likely that she works with some criminals who sell black market organs.
