Last speech, a girl in my class talked about the women's rights movement and how it was a powerful movement but had a lot of false stigma around it. For my speech, I want to talk about these "false stigmas" and prove them right by comparing what the women fight for and what men get. A big example I want to talk about is the male vs female suicide rate. She had a big part of her speech about the higher attempted female suicide rate and how there needs to be more help for females going through depression. But in my speech, I want to talk about how even though more women attempt suicide, 5-6x more males commit suicide but there is very little help out there for them because of the pressure society has on them.
In class today, I have to tell the teacher a specific speech topic I want to use. It's a problem/solution speech (persuasive), and I'm having a lot of trouble creating a specific topic. There is just so much to talk about that I can't choose one thing. I don't want to attack anyone because I'm scared if I use the speech to attack the women's rights movement, someone might falsely claim rape to get me kicked out of college. But I think this topic is too important to not speak up about it.

So far, the topic I have is the "Men's Rights Movement". The thesis is "There are many issues surrounding gender equality including the unfairly high suicide rate of males, how hard it is for fathers to get custody of their child, and forced to penetrate being different than rape."

I'm not good at writing speeches and this one kinda scares me because of how easy it is for someone to claim rape and get me kicked out of school if this speech offends them...
