Make sure other people involved with the child know not to try to forcefully retract a child's foreskin while it's still fused to the glans. Anyone who might change a diaper or otherwise have access. Grandparents, babysitters, daycare, even pediatricians. "He had a little dirt under his fingernails, so I ripped them off." is a pretty visceral analogy if someone is having trouble understanding.

And provided you don't raise him to think touching his penis is bad and he needs to keep his hands off it, he'll keep it sparkling clean in the bath without needing any encouragement from y'all.

Hospitals try a lot to push circumcision on to parents, so take extra care about that.

My father didn't show me how to retract the foreskin to clean it. Luckily. He will figure that out by himself. Just tell him to also clean under it once or twice when it isn't fused to the glans anymore. That's literally it.

Be careful at the hospital. Doctors fucking love pushing circumcision, if you get a particularly bad one, they might try to pull it off(theres been a couple of cases where they do it without parent consent) so just to be certain, stick close, my parents personally had to threaten them about what would happen if they tried to do it to me, but try to keep them from doing it without threats if you can. And like someone else said, keep the diaper on at any time it isnt needed off. All it takes is a few seconds for a misinformed doctor to ruin your hopes for the kid and his foreskin. Don't let anyone take off your son's diaper unless they can state how to care for the intact penis.

Dangerous pediatricians, nurses or daycare workers will proudly say you have to forcibly retract the foreskin and clean with soap and water after every diaper change. Find a foreskin friendly doctor, likely one who is foreign born.

The foreskin doesn't retract until sexual maturity.

Seriously, when he gets old enough that he NEEDS to wash under his foreskin, your fight will be getting him to stop.

There's a whole lotta nerve endings in that flap o' skin that plug right into the pleasure centre of your brain and moving it back and forth feels real good.

It’s simple you are only required to clean the exterior of the genitals during infancy and when the child is around the age of four you get them to retract it themselves and just rinse with water.

The foreskin may not become fully retractable until 10-14 years of age which is also considered normal.

The child is the only one who should retract it because they will not inflict harm or cause pain to themselves.

That is all that is required other than a few prompts periodically to make sure they are doing it.

Look for information from countries such as Australia and New Zealand who have mastered this with the majority of male children now uncircumcised.

The foreskin won't separate until puberty. Just leave it alone and he will be fine. The only time a foreskin causes problems is when adults mess with it.

My son will be 4 on the 10th and up until it was about three years old, we always showered together because we didn't have a tub at the old house. I'm circumcised and he's not. Just let kids be kids and teach them to the best of your ability. He would ask questions often and I would happily answer. Now he comes barging into the bathroom while I'm showering to say he has to peepee and I have to plead with him to not flush the toilet.

When he gets older hire a maid to bath him and show him how to wash his penis instead
