It's not about equality, it's about equity. It's not about representation, it's about eradication.

In their eyes, "equality" first starts with "leveling the playing field". It's done so by systematically and socially suppressing your ability to advance in order for their party to gain footing and, eventually, the upper hand. Whether your advances came from hard work or privilege is of no consequence.

We hear "they don't want to give up their power", because it's not about sharing privilege. It's about taking it. It's not just about lifting the less fortunate. It's about knocking down those who are fortunate. They don't just want what you have. They also want to make sure you DON'T have it.

You might not be at war, but they are. This is a struggle for victory. This isn't a struggle for fairness, balance or equality. To them, their victory is fairness, their victory is balance, their victory is equality. To you, life struggles are not about race, gender, sexuality, nationality or religion. Even when they might actually be the catalyst in certain circumstance. To them, it is always about these categories. Even when they might not actually be the catalyst in certain circumstances. Your existence alone is their oppression. This is why we see so much hypocrisy in these insufferable debates, and they're perfectly fine with those hypocrisies if it benefits their agenda. Because equality isn't the goal. Victory is the goal, and in a perverted twist of truth and word play, victory is equality.

"To the privileged, equality feels like oppression." The truth of that statement doesn't make it the only truth, and it certainly doesn't grant them amnesty from wrong doings or criticism.

The tactic is word play, twisting and changing definitions, manipulating data and public shaming. "If you really cared about ____ then you would...." is just saying you don't care unless you do so on their terms. That's because it isn't about representation. It's about eradication through your silence. Your silence comes with your shame and the guilt you're expected to carry for things you did not do.

This is identity politics at the oppression olympics. Where your struggles are a privilege and your identity is a sham.
