Good work by them.

One critique I have about dv stats is that we have had those focused on women's wellbeing define the priorities to measure harm.

To include men's experience, i would be inclined to include issues they experienced much more than women as a result of the dv. Some of those are hard to measure but important.

Examples include suicide or suicide attempts, imprisonment, exclusion from engagement with their children.

"Newly revealed"?

The General Social Survey has been revisiting domestic violence every five years since 1984, and men have been a significant proportion of the victims since day one. They passed parity in that scale in 2004 and are now a raw majority of the victims, according to the survey.

This is additional evidence, but evidence of the trend within Statscan's products has been around for nearly 40 years.
