So last Sunday (1 week ago today) my wife decided to take our 8 mo old to her parents' place in Virginia (we reside in Florida). We had been fighting a bunch (nothing physical) so she said she needed some time away. I said fine. It's been a week and she still says she has "no idea" when shes coming back, but at least another 2 weeks, and we might be divorcing. My question is, can one parent compel the other to return to the state with the child, without filing for divorce? Is there a maximum time she can stay away with my child? I'd like my wife to come back and try to resolve the issue at home, I even offered to move into my brothers house down the street while we take time to sort it out and go to counselling.

I'm really uneasy about not seeing my daughter for a whole month or longer, I miss her terribly. Please help if you can!
