Muller alleged that Eric Brion, a senior French television producer, had humiliated her by saying: "You have big breasts. You are my type of woman. I will make you orgasm all night."

In court last Wednesday, Brion once again admitted that he had said those words to Muller, adding that he had sent her an "apology text message" but didn't get an answer the following day. He added that, "Muller's violence against me has never stopped. The violence of people hiding behind their phones."

While he has said that he regretted his words, Brion noted in Le Monde that he would have rather been tried in a court of justice than in the court of social media.

He's right, but he's also at fault. Better to be tried in the court of law than the court of public opinion (where a superminority of obsessive users are responsible for a supermajority of the content [10% of Twitter-users produce 80% of the Tweets]).

He's at fault because he tried to hit on an ugly, frigid woman.

But Celine Piques, spokesperson for the French feminist association Osez Le Féminisme, (Dare Feminism) told CNN that the trial is "absurd," and one that amplifies a culture in which the courts are "trying to make us believe there is a grey zone between harassment and seduction."

"Justice is sexist, in the image of society," Piques added. She attributes backlash against the #MeToo movement to men who are "not ready to give up their privileges" in society.

More like some men aren't going to let you whip up Twitter mobs (submerged networks) against them without pushing back to defend their reputations.

In suing her for defamation, Brion joins a growing list of wealthy men in powerful positions who have taken legal action against their accusers.

We could always bring back the honor duel. That would be good for a laugh. It would also tamp down on this Twitter nonsense.

Stone added that Australia's defamation laws deterred her from coming forward, as laws in Australia place the burden on publishers to prove allegations are true.

Oh noez! Truth-as-an-absolute-defense is sexist and oppressive towards women! It's a woman's right to 'embellish' the story for maximum pathos.

I don’t think he is trying to say it was ok to do what he did. He is trying to point out that she had an apology but wanted a pound of flesh and she got the pound of flesh through social media and not the proper channels.

She took her pound of flesh and some extra now the courts will decide if she should have to give the extra back. I think she will. She used this to big up her brand. This wasn’t about teaching him a lesson.

The irony is she's right about justice being sexist, just not how she imagines:

In the US, widespread use of the Duluth Model means that male victims can be arrested for domestic violence done by their female partners simply because the model says the tallest person has to be the perpetrator.

Courts are often more lenient in sentencing women than they are when the accused is a man.

Courts see no problem with forcing fathers into what is essentially slavery.

Courts are unwilling to convict, let alone sentence, women for raping boys, but are perfectly fine with forcing the boy to pay his rapist child support.

Courts favor mothers in custody hearings simply because she's a woman, often requiring extreme evidence of her incapability as a parent for the father to have a chance.

Courts have no problem forcing men to live in poverty to sustain the lifestyle of a woman that cheated on him or putting him in jail for being unable to pay.

So in a way, she's right. It just so happens that she's the side that benefits in many countries.

There is absolutely a grey zone between harassment and seduction, it’s all perception. If I walk up to a girl and ask her if she wants to fuck, and she doesn’t - harassment. If she does - seduction. At least that’s how it currently is. That doesn’t quite make sense.
