Edit : The gap talked by the article is the gap between average salary not a gap in the banks' index.
There is a growing push in France for compagnies to pay men and women the same using the gap in average salary of men and women. So compagnies more and more will start to discriminate against men for promotions, raise bonus, etc. Moreover personal negociations will start to be less and less impactful.
In this case banks will be forced to take into account bonus in how they measure the gap between men and women's salary at (equal responsibilities not the gap in average that the article mention often). This means again that bonus will be made into standard, offering less freedom and it will serve those initiatives I talk about in my first paragraph.
The article justify this using one example of a woman being unfairly paid. But one example is just one example. Why don't you go and measure really if there is an inequality in those banks ?
At the very end they talk about a survey, again taking a grossly taken average over ~200 schools. All schools are bot equal. They once again left out the negociation and the fact that men more readily go farther from where they live and accept lower workplace-life balance.
They want the death of individuality because it doesn't favor women... "Since women don't want to negociate, sacrifice their personal life, commute as much as men and work as hard as men to perform, men should not get rewarded for doing so".
