It's nothing personal. Quit worrying about how women ought to treat you and try to get what you want instead. You'll probably be the "asshole" in some peoples eyes but that's fine. That's what I'd say.

seemingly good men

To the outside world, the 2 men I know like this seem like 'good men'.

Ones a raging alcoholic (he's been for years, even when he was actively dating), he broke up with women who weren't 100% of the same mindset he was, no compromise. Almost 40 and hasn't had a real GF in probably 8 years.

The other is also an alcoholic and a serial womanizer. He's now too old and too broke to pull it off, but lies as a habit.

First you must accept the reality that 80/20 and people can be shallow or at least want the status of the top guy from the friend group. Women are people too and they can fall for group pressure, because in general women are passive in nature.

Women or any man-children can fall into narcissisms, which can lead to many shallow friends and relationship. Remember you want a relationship that is good for both sides and not one sided.
