People don't understand the true implications of this. An AI that can accurately predict the sentiment of something it's asked to write is also an AI that can accurately interpret the sentiment of something it's asked to read. These tools will enable the true automation of mass-censorship on social media. Rather than rely on volunteer mods or low-paid mass numbers of third world reviewers, social media companies will use their in-house AIs to read every single post and message, read through every single article and video/audio transcript that's linked, and detect what's being said and in what context. At the flick of a switch, a few decision makers at the top of these half dozen companies are going to be able to censor entire ideas across the world instantly.

Next will be the advertising networks, hosting platforms, cloud service providers and payment processors. They will all use the services of "sentiment AIs" to scour the content of sites using their services to see if they conform with policies. A simple query will be able to single out any site, anywhere, that spreads wrongthink. That site will have its payment services, adds and cloud services pulled, its access to app stores revoked, all in the name of safety and equality.

Give poor GPT some slack. It's been trained on a massive amount of text generated by the internet and the public in general. The biases reflected in that text (and therefore society as a whole) are also reflected in it's responses. It's not surprising it responded as it did.
