Here's a story I thought this sub would appreciate. I'm a patrol sergeant in a mid size sheriffs office in Virginka and one of my guys took a domestic call a few nights ago. He cleared it pretty quick without an arrest or a report, which typically means he found the call completely unfounded.

The following day, the female "victim," and complaining party, class the local Commonwealth's Attorney because she wants her boyfriends suspended sentence revoked over the incident. She tells the CA that the male slapped her in the side of the head that night and that he has not started his anger management classes yet, so she wants him locked up. At this point, I should mention that the man has a single conviction of DV and is on a year of good behavior with mandatory participation in anger management classes. The CA asks that we go back out there and conduct a more thorough investigation because the woman also claims she has injuries, so we oblige. The original deputy isn't available that night because he was injured fighting another suspect after the initial call, so the Lt. and I head out to talk to her.

She comes out and has a black eye that she admits was not present when the deputy first came out. She said no further incident occurred, but she thinks it just took time to form because he smacked her on that side of her head around the temple. In her rant to us about how awful he is, she tells us that the argument started because she went through his phone and went off on him. She then said she got mad at him and smacked him in the face which prompted him to smack her back, which was the only physical contact between the two.

We specifically ask if she smacked him because she was afraid or because he was in her face and she, in the same sentence, says, "no, I smacked him because I was pissed off that he was talking to other women and hasn't even started his anger management classes that he's supposed to have done by next month." I was speechless. I asked her to clarify:"you mean you got so angry you hit himbut he needs the anger management?" She thought for a second, then looked me in the eye and said yes.

We got his side, since he was there this time, and no only did she smack him, she kicked him in the groin, which is what he said really made him slap her to get her away. We strongly advised that he leave her and never look back, but he won't. And now I'm wondering how fucked the first conviction was and if something similar happened there. He also seemed okay with her hitting him, absolutely didn't want any chargesand seemed to regret that he'd hit her. We plan to consult the CA on charging her, but I almost guarantee they won't do it.

Her flagrant narcissism blew my mind though, and I had to vent. Sorry for formatting or typos, I'm on mobile.
