Get consultations with at least 3. Come prepared with written questions and note their answers. Understand how they see your case playing out, including results. You will be paying them handsomely and it’s very expensive to switch. Ask, “why should I hire you?” and listen carefully.

Try to look for some that offer free consultations. If anything they can add to questions or help you navigate through this more clearly. But do try and get different consultations because you will notice that some have different approaches. One of the ones I consulted came across super aggressive as in wanting numbers to make a decision on how to get more out of her. The one I went with pretty much laid it out as if he had a crystal ball. It was supposed to be amicable, but once she found out certain things that she was not going to be able to do, things stopped being as amicable as before. Best money spent for peace of mind.
