This is amazing news. It will lead to a deluge of lawsuits and hopefully to financial loss to perpetrators that will make others consider their future actions.

That's the problem right there. Assuming the accused is guilty, especially in the context of a highly biased environment, and a kangroo court. This stuff should not exist in the first place.

Accused students can raise pointed questions designed to embarrass or traumatize the complaining party, such as questions about mental health, substance abuse or irrelevant details of the events alleged.

Ah, so now creating reasonable doubt, as a defense, is embarrassing or traumatizing to the complaining party. Might as well do away with it, and just assume guilt. Wouldn't want someone to be a bit uncomfortable when ruining another persons life.

to be frank Ive had friends on both sides of kangarooo courts (women actually harmed but not believed and men falsely accused but strung out) and these extra legal systems are not designed to handle these systems effectively in he said she said situations. The government should actually be handling these situations.
