Not even the “professionals” will tolerate a man seeking help recovering from abuse by a woman.

The only person that I have ever told (other than the internet) about what I experienced as a child at he hands of two different women was a therapist in college. I had been seeing her for around 4 months at that point, finally felt like we had a good enough connection for me to tell her about what happened.

I told her during a session, then 3 days later she emailed me and told me she couldn’t have me as her client any more. She didn’t try to switch me to another therapist or give me any resources, just ditched me.

I’ve since learned that what she did is considered patient abandonment and is a violation of her licensing requirements, but I was a young college kid admitting my past to someone for the very first time. I had no idea that I could report her for abandonment, and even if I did, I probably wouldn’t have done it because being dropped like that was fucking devastating and I just wished I could die after reading that email. But I couldn’t, so I spent the next 4-6 months drunk and/or high.

They dont care. Even the “professionals” who we literally pay to care. They cant even be paid to pretend to care for 1 hour a week. They’d rather make their pity and/or disgust known, than be paid to even pretend to empathize with a male victim.
