It's very silly and a bit hard to take seriously.

The Barbies are a bit mean to Ryan Gosling's Ken, but the scenes with Ken are the most entertaining in the movie and I actually saw him, and not Barbie, as the main character. He is supposed to be a simpleton but the movie makes it clear he has a mind of his own and often reacts to things in an amusing manner. I didn't see any reason to root for Barbie who is basically a spoiled middle-class princess with nothing to worry about.

At the start the Kens are just homeless muscle-idiots who make a fool of themselves at the beach. Then Barbie and Ken go to the real world and split up to explore. Barbie cries hysterically because some builders say some cheesy chat up lines to her while Ken is amazed that men in the real world have homes and careers (other than "beach") and can accomplish stuff they can be proud of; which is apparently called "the patriarchy". Understandably he wants to recreate this back in Barbie-land.

Ken's "patriarchy recreation" of Barbieland doesn't even seem sexist or much of a real "patriarchy" tbh, it's mostly just the Kens letting themselves go and wearing what they want to wear, playing games other than beach games and new cars etc while the Barbies take the role of waitresses. When Barbie returns she is furious that Ken has left the beach and is wearing something other than his usual outfit (controlling behaviour much?).

Barbie restores Barbie-land back to the way it was by basically kidnapping the other barbies and brainwashing them with a radical feminist monologue in a van.

The movie seems to be trying to tell us that the way the Kens are treated in Barbieland is the same as how women are treated in the real world (USA specifically). Not really accurate since the Kens in Barbieland are homeless and aren't allowed to work or wear anything other than the Barbies say they can wear. If the comparison was for women in say Afghanistan then this might be more accurate but definitely not USA 2023.

If it's supposed to be a feminist movie that makes us think "wow, women in USA today have life so bad" then IMO it didn't really succeed.

Do I recommend it? Yes, but don't go to the cinema. Download or stream it so you can skip all the boring preachy parts that just have Barbie in them and watch Ken be fabulous.
