From 2007 to 2019 it was illegal in Shreveport LA to wear "sagging pants" which is a type of fashion mostly worn by men, many of them black. In that time 713 men were arrested and 14 women. The law was repealed in 2019 after a man was shot and killed after being chased by police attempting to stop him for sagging pants.

Of course the law is unconstitutional on many levels, but the people arrested didn't have the money and resources to sue. Imagine what they went through, strip searched, lost jobs, criminal records etc because that day they forgot to wear a belt or simply were more comfortable wearing sagging pants. Imagine the fines paid that took food out of people's mouths. And these laws are still on the books in several other cities. People are quietly being arrested, fined, jailed and forced into labor (community service) for a fashion "faux pa." https://www.shreveporttimes.com/story/news/2019/06/11/sagging-pants-law-abolished-shreveport/1425135001/
