well, good look and confidence alternates for some people but just to get the girl attention and initial interest.

Everybody (even men) like confidence in others, specifically males.

Having a good appearance makes you look friendlier and more approachable/sociable.

While a physical fitness helps, i know women who dont want overly muscular guys (because it makes them feel bad, OR insecure about their ability to keep the man).
