I usually hit the city on weekend nights but I'm getting more familiar with it

If you're a singer or like watching them, Recessions (a couple blocks south of Dupont) or Rock It Grille (Alexandria) any day of the weekend or Madam's Organ on Sundays/Thursdays.

All of Adams Morgan has a decent scene.

Dupont Circle is that on steroids and the entire street is a cordoned off mad house on weekends.

Low key stuff to start off or cool down near/in Dupont:

Arnold's on Jefferson for Belgian fans, best fries for blocks, and mussels
Boardroom - Drinks and board games
Mission - Decent margs, salsa
City Tap House
Surfside taco stand (24hr)
Also some 2 floor hookah lounge on the north side of Dupont i don't go to but that would probably be great if you smoke

After that stuff for actual animals that I recommend at least once:

Sauf House
Madhatter
Brixton (U Street)
That Japanese club/bar further up the street from a hole in the wall empanada place whose name I forget

Further away but worth a visit if you uber/metro/dont mind paying ten billion dollars to park:

Penn Social
Arlington downtown
Waterfront/wharf (during the day also)
Alexandria downtown and waterfront (during the day also)
If a band is in town that you like 930 club or Anthem. Much further north, Fillmore in Silver Spring

PS: If you're willing to be weighed down for a night, I'll trade you drinks for coaching lol

To echo what is said here. I'm 26 currently in my senior year at University of Maryland and go to DC all the time. I'd recommend Adams Morgan (Johnny Pistolas, Grand Central, Shennigans, Madams Organ, Shennigans). And Madhatter in dupont. Lots of quality girls in these two areas. I'm planning on being up there this weekend too if you need a buddy.
