So, 35/M just moved back to the city (mid sized, 2 million metro population) from living in Mexico for a few months, and am noticing a trend.

I have no issues going up to girls in public or initially meeting new people in general. But once I get the number and then text or call to ask when they are free to grab a drink, I get crickets. This is with dating prospects that seem to have a 5+ interest level when I meet them, and even with potential guy friends. I didn't have this issue years ago pre pandemic (was in a relationship the entire pandemic), and definitely didn't have this issue in Mexico.

But now that I'm back in the US, it feels different and way more difficult to make connections, or even setting up that first date/hang out. Is this an increasingly common thing? Dating seems like it may be at an all time low
