PLZ READ 🙏

I am a sophomore (20M) at a big public school. I am 6’2, fit, and I would say I’m handsome (for reference purposes only not trying to sound like a douchebag). Last fall my buddies and I were having dinner with a group of his friends and there was this insanely cute girl there. We talked a little but it was just small talk. I was too much of a puss to make a move and ask for her number/snap before we parted ways, and I didn’t see her at all for the next 5+ months. We followed each other on Instagram after that night, but I was going through a breakup so I didn’t want to treat her like a rebound, and decided it was best to just focus on myself for a while. Long story short, I recently felt extremely confident and sent her a DM asking her out on a date. Prior to sending this DM I noticed she wasn’t following me anymore (which was super weird) but I sent it anyways. Well, it’s been over a week and my message is still on “sent” probably just chilling in her requests folder unless she just deleted it and was uninterested. GET TO THE POINT! Okay okay, anyways I saw her at grocery store today, and was dying to say something but it would be incredibly embarrassing if I said something and she had already seen my DM and just decided not to respond. I anticipate I will see her again in the near future as our friend groups are planning a similar get together.

Should I approach her and talk to her as if she has not seen my message? Or should I assume she saw it and isn’t interested and I need to just give up?
