I’m getting interested in taking this serious.
Not your call, the girl sets the pace. You just agree to go steady or not when shes ready and asks you.
Reading all the other advice, everyone says to give her some space and let her come to you.
Yes because when you bake something you dont constantly open up the oven and check it. Women require more time to like you and they need lots of time to think it over and talk to their friends about it.
How does one do this even? Just distract one’s self and leave the conversation be for a while?
You should have other things to do besides her. You had a life before her, get back to it.
We already have a date scheduled for later this week, so I don’t know if I should just stop talking to her
If you mean over text, that should be only used for logistics. Keep nonphysical conversations brief.

Yeah I’d say stop talking to her until the date. If she talks to you you can respond some with light banter or just be like “hey glad to hear from you I’m busy at the moment and can’t talk but looking forward to seeing you later this week”
I typically follow Corey Wayne’s advice about the phone is just for setting dates. I call once a week to set a date. Maybe a text every few days that’s just light and flirty. Usually girls will start texting me on their own after a few dates at most and then just kind of respond lightly set another date and do all the conversations on dates.
Easy to do this if you are busy. If you are not busy and really like the girl it can be a battle to stop yourself texting her when you feel like you miss her, but the reward of her chasing you and valuing you is worth it.
I’ve heard this can be harder to implement in an already established pattern of texting though. Better to start out this way. Good luck.

I’d say definitely try to establish some space. Just start being more busy. Just make sure the actual in person dates she has a great time and if she complains make sure she’s knows you really enjoy your time with her but you’ve been busy lately. I’d say this will most likely cause her to start texting you more. A good rule of thumb after dating awhile is that she initiates 80% of communication. You only have to respond. But keep texting light. Save real conversations for in person.
You could also maybe say that you want to get away from using your phone so much which isn’t a bad idea anyways.

It’s not about giving space, it’s about being less dependent and less focused on her than you are, to do your own independent thing, and have your own agency outside of her
