Hi everyone, there was this very enlightening post just now which included a fascinating discussion.
https://old.reddit.com/r/tantricsex/comments/p9tt4u/polarity_potential/
I wanted to open up this topic, because whether its in Tantra circles or in date/sex coaching circles, there is a whole lot of 'polarity' thrown around. Some ideas I have seen are-'get into your femininity by submitting to your man's mission' (never mind if as a woman, you have a mission, and would like your man to get behind that. I paid for this class too and was Goddess shamed when I asked for clarity) (Goddess shaming is now a thing folks)
I prefer the terms Yin/Yang or Shakti/Shiva, because they invoke complex subjects which deal with polarizing energies that may or may not equate to sex and gender.
I find that when identifying with certain energies, it is possible to channel a dominant/submissive energy, or a worshipping/worshipped energy, or a giver/receiver energy.
I think this helps when it comes to those who are required to be 'dominant' or 'submissive' but are not sure how. You can fake it till you make it I believe. We are asked to play different roles throughout life ,some require dominance (teaching/leading) Some require submission (learning/following)People do it all the time. We in the West come from democratic societies that place value on equality and mutual respect. It is hardly surprising that there are blocks on being dominant and submissive. I believe you can teach your man, or woman what it is exactly that you want. Teach them!
I would love more discussion on these topics. And more discussion on the connection of Shakti/Shiva, Yin/Yang and the more familiar masculine and feminine stereotypes.
