If you've already made up your mind to pursue it then don't wait for another opportunity. Escalate this yourself. Ask her randomly what she's wearing. I find the more random you throw this into a conversation the better. It catches them off guard and usually prompts a laugh. Also you will almost always get an honest answer. She will almost alway certainly ask you as well.
