This might seem like a really noobish post, and that's because I am really new to TRP in general. I've read the sidebar. I'm trying to learn best I can. My current issue is how to gauge when I'm being beta or actually doing things that are good for my status and whatever.

For example, if I buy drinks and pay for shit then that shows that I have money. I feel like that could be either an alpha "he has more resources" or a beta "lets use him for drinks/food/whatever". If I walk someone home to make sure they're safe, I feel it can be either providing a sense of security or seen like I'm trying too hard to be a "nice guy".

My current thinking is that it's more to do with frequency, game, how you go about it and what you say (frame?) more than it is the actual actions, but I'd love to get some perspective. Cheers.
