It depends on night game culture of your city.

It is possible to take attention of the girls on dance floor if you are good dancer. But this is hard. And if you are alone and have no social proof then even if you dance good this will make you go nowhere.

People smoke, they go to toilet, they refresh their drinks, they get tired. These small breaks are your chance to ask her name and invite her to dance floor. Don't try to isolate her directly. unlike you they are there for dancing. Mostly with their friends who are waiting for them.
