First, consider if its worth throwing away a friendship over, because thats what will happen. Also, give it a bit of time because you dont wanna be the rebound and lose a friend. Personally, I've been on the receiving end of that exchange more than once and theres no worse feeling than a mate running off with your ex. Good luck though.

I hate to be the bad guy, but chances aren't that great with this girl. She's probably just enjoying her new singleness and flirting with whoever she feels like.

The issue here is that you've known her for 3 years and developed a crush for her, with absolutely no effort on her part.

Now, if you're still willing to try, and you don't mind burning that bridge with your friend (because you will) then be very direct with her with what you want, and be ready to accept an outcome you won't like. I'm not saying it's doomed to fail, but don't be surprised if it does. If anything, you will put off a confident "I know what I want" attitude, and perhaps that could build enough attraction to spark something.

With that in mind, your situation is pretty common with men who aren't good at seduction, and the outcome usually ends the same (friend zoned).
