UK cold approach is not well taught or understood. PUA is largely Americanised so it plays on American social attitudes and expectations.

It is not considered confident to be as loud or brazen here as it is in the US. Boastful can be interpreted as rude. Openers need to be much more polite and apologetic than PUA would usually recommend.

Like you said, we are not as welcoming of strangers. Very social circle orientated. Cities are better than towns in a way, especially ones with a university.

Honestly, the game has kinda changed. Things will be strange until coronavirus is gone and forgotten about. I'm sure if you pick the right locations, you will find people more amenable to social interaction. Typically outdoors areas and skate or local parks where people hang out in groups have always been better for daygame.

There's no real tricks, mate. We're all winging it. I've found that having a reasonable excuse to stop someone helps - plausible deniability. So does the hot weather. Even now, most of my conversations are pleasant, but don't progress past formalities.
