Hey i got a better idea. You are not happy together? Easy, just break up.

I thought from the title that his advice was "don't be a nice guy TM" but reading through it it seemed more like his advice was "pamper any girl you're dating regardless of whether she reciprocated your kindness in any way," which is just horrible advice that's going to leave you broke and alone.

True. I felt unreciprocated for like 2 years. Breaking up was the best idea ever. Now i feel way more reciprocated and its healthy.

I disagree with. Yes men should be genuinely kind and do kind things for people in their live without any expectation of reciprocation, and expecting something in return is a nice guy TM mentality. However, if you're in a relationship with a woman who you're giving the world to, but she's not showing even remotely the same level of care to you, it's not a "nice guy" move to just pack your shit up and leave. You deserve someone who cares about making you happy.
I also think im general it's a terrible idea to spoil a woman. I grew up having most of my romantic expectations formed by romantic comedies and Disney films, so I thought pampering a girl was the best way. Wrong. All this does is increase her expectations to the point where you can't continue to live up to them. I had this happen in a past relationship, where I spoiled the shit out of her, and she quickly became bored of it, and also stopped meeting me half way on anything, because I'd given her 100% power and she didn't want to relinquish any back. When she broke up with me, she later realized that I had been treating her well, probably better than almost any other guy she could find, and wanted to get back together, but I almost guarantee you she'd have got just as bored if we got back together and I acted the same way.
I'm not saying don't treat your girl well. I'm just saying care for her more emotionally than with expensive gifts and meals. The occasional big gesture is ok and a gift for special occasions or when you can tell she needs it is fine, but don't treat her like a princess. If you treat her like a princess, she will treat you like a peasant.
