Here's my routine. The usuals go for starting the conversation - eye contact, smile, keep things breezy. Lite flirting and keno helps as well. Then ask her to go the dance floor. I give it a couple minutes, and then hold her hand, spin here around and pull her close to you, and maintain contact (hand on waist or something). Just groove here, and let her do the rest - more often than not they turn around and start grinding. If that does not happen in a few minutes, grab her hand and give her a half spin, and pull her close in the grinding position.

This being said, take cues for consent. If she is trying to get away when you try to pull her closer, she is not interested. Just move on and try on a different girl.

First things first. You should know how to dance, with or without a partner. If you’re on the dance floor and you’re not dancing, you’re doing it wrong. Nothing expert, just the basics, there’s an endless amount of YouTube videos nowadays. Learn to dance.

At the club, I actually recommend sparking up a conversation while in line to get inside or while waiting for drinks at the bar, if they are in your immediate vicinity. It’s usually not as loud and allows for conversation. On the dance floor it gets a little harder since it’s too loud to talk/be heard, it’s packed in tight, and you’re causing a bigger interruption. Still very doable though but it demands a lot more body language communication.

I personally recommend against over assertive approaches on the dance floor, like immediately telling them they “look cute” or trying to grind right away if she agrees to dance or even just immediately asking to dance, in my opinion is too assertive for the dance floor. You gotta keep in mind, women are hounded mercilessly at the club. They’re looking all done up and hot, usually in revealing clothing. Men are drunk and trying to “game” and what not. So justifiably so they have their defenses up more so then in other social contexts.

Anyways, if you’re on the dance floor and a cute girl is in your vicinity (she’s probably dancing with some friends, you better be dancing), make eye contact and smile. If she smiles back walk up next to her and say “Hi, I am {First Name}, you mind if I dance right here” and point at the space next her. You gotta say it loud because of the music, if she leans in because she can’t hear you, that’s likely a good sign so just say it in her ear however, you should not just lean in automatically if she didn’t hear. If she pretends not to hear or begins to put space between you and inch away then just accept the rejection and move on. But if she says yes and stays in the same spot, then your in, and just gotta escalate up to grinding.

So now your dancing next to her, think shoulder to shoulder, she’s fully aware of your presence. Your goal now is to transition dancing positions from shoulder to shoulder to face to face, but still ok to have space in between, once your face to face you guys are now officially dancing with each other. There’s many ways to make the transition, whether it’s a playful hip or shoulder bump, or just making eye contact and smiling. Its also important to sync up your rhythm and dance moves to what she’s doing too. It’s typically all non verbal though.

Okay so now your face to face, essentially dancing with each other, it is now time to close the the gap. Easy way is just to literally get closer or put your palm out and bring her in by the hand. Once you’re close in and have danced for a bit, you take one hand and twirl her around. You are now in grinding position, remember take it slow, don’t go rushing to put your hands on her hips or all over, pace it naturally. As you get closer, the more you can lean and talk in her ear.

Remember this sounds all procedural and what not but it shouldn’t be like that. It should be easy going and sincere. These guidelines should only be seen as training wheels but once you get riding on your own, make it your own.
