I’ve been hangin around the Tampa Bay Area for work and I decided to try out some of the techniques in the bars around the area. I’ve had experience with women before with multiple dates during college but meeting new people as an adult seems to be a different game. You rarely see people multiple times outside of work and there’s not the same level of closeness from living on campus.

Night #1 Went to a nightclub and approached about 6 women. I kept it really simple “Hey, how’s it going? My name’s x. What yours? Do you want to dance?” 4 of them said yes and we danced for a while before I moved on. 2 of them looked like I had two heads. That just showed me that you could do the exact same thing every time and get different responses based on their moods.

Night #2 Went to a couple of bars near St. Pete. The vibe was very different. They didn’t play a lot of music that I liked and everyone seemed a lot more cliqued up and reserved with less dancing. I still focused on having fun more than anything else and basically practiced dancing. Crashed and burned with my first approach. She completely ignored my first question and he friend then boxed me out of the conversation. Not a good start but the rest of the night went ok. Bar hopped a lot but literally couldn’t find a group that wasn’t already with a bunch of other guys. I just settled to listening to some music and having quick convos with some random people. Still counting it as a success because I didn’t let a failed approach ruin my night.

I’m not going to focus on getting numbers since I’m just in town for a couple weeks for work but it’s definitely boosting my confidence with approaching.
