Man I feel exactly the same. I literally fear to approach people even online in case it happens to work out. Sorry I can’t provide advice but I would also be interested to see what people have to say

The first thing that came to mind for me is to always be doubtful if it is actually happening, then you will be so involved in looking for the loose ends that you won't notice what you are doing right but that would get you not making moves when it's due. To be fair, if you think that at some point you still can fail at something when it comes to women, does that calm you any bit? I mean there is no point when you are "completely in", because a relationship is something you are constantly actively involved in, if it's not, then you are in the wrong one.

Yep. It needs to be balanced. But for the short term, it seems like a solution for this problem.

I remember having that feeling too btw, after I pushed through it bit by bit, it got away. For me one of the hardest parts of it was telling about the girl to my parents. But since I had to leave the city to meet with her, I was forced to talk about her, because my parents would be scared to death about where I am. If you can find something external to hold on to, that's good too.
