I'm pretty fucking fed up with myself. Here I am in the college of my dreams surrounded by gorgeous women and I can't get over myself enough to talk to them. Every party I attend I sulk around like that guy that no one wants to be, in every class I'm quiet and withdrawn. I really need help busting out of this shell.
I rock climb 5 days a week, own my own business and, Im a national champion snowboarder. All of this combined should make me confident as fuck confident or at least enough to strike up conversations with people but it doesn't. Anyone else in my position would be slaying it with the women.
Most things come easily to me, except talking to women. At this point I'm incredibly frustrated and slipping into another period of depression due to feeling of inadequacy. Something that gets posted on seddit frequently is that you need to hit the gym, develop some skills, and be the man a gorgeous woman would want to be with. I've been doing that for years and creating value for myself is easy, but i've never been able to translate that value to the women that need to hear it.
I can't understand the source of this anxiety and fear that I feel. Sometimes I go free-soloing (rock climbing without ropes) around the city I live, and I remember the largest climb I ever completed totaling around 2000 feet vertical of 5.4 climbing, where the slightest loss of control would have meant death. Throughout the whole climb not once did I feel the intensity of fear as I do when I'm standing in the corner of a party clutching my beer. It doesn't make sense.
Now I can't help but think that there is something fundamentally wrong with me. Why else would I feel so rejected? Why would I struggle with something that appears easy for people less motivated, less fit, less intelligent, and less attractive than me? I can't be as great as I think.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
