Or tell her the truth. I'm sure the woman will respect your honesty. The songs are about feelings that you had and if you have the same feelings for the woman you're serenading, it's no longer about the ex!

As a musician myself, I would say just go with other songs or lie about what the songs are really about.

I'm still pretty new to this sub, but, I reckon most would advise that bringing up an ex in situations like this would do nothing but hurt your game.

Life experiences of love, loss, and attraction. I would go into details about your ex. Chalk it up to a combination of experiences.
