I'm currently 27 and planning on buying my own condo in the main city. Because of the high cost in Hawaii ($400-500,000 for 1 bed), after the mortgage, HOA fees, food etc, I will basically not be able to spend the kind of money I'm used to. The last of my money will be going to Muay Thai classes, gym, and supplements. I love going to upscale bars, networking events, parties, etc but I fear I will most likely lose my social standing and friends since I won't be able to afford going anymore.
My parents are very well off and I have a great relationship with them. No rules, I can bring girls back whenever, etc. The only bad thing is logistics being about an hour away from town. I really have no reason to move out other than that I want to. Most of the girls here don't even care that guys live with their parents until they are about 30.
Question is... for those that had a certain level of lifestyle they are accustomed to, was it worth losing all of it in order to own your own place and have that freedom and responsibility? How has it affected your life with women by making the logistics so much easier despite not having the money to go out? I spend quite a bit of money on my dates, but at the same time I like going to those places and I do end up hooking up with them anyway so it's not like I'm spending money with no results. I just won't be able to rely on that anymore and I've honestly never gone on a date where I just invite them back to my place or spend $10 at a dive bar.
