I've gone out a few times with a girl.

Met at a frat party (mine). She is one of my friend's Ex's. I got his permission to go out with her. I seemed to do well with her and her friends (we all went to hang out at my place afterward).

She asks me to play tennis sometime. It goes well, and we talk/play for 2+ hours.

Went out for ice cream as a first date. Yeah, it's cold out, but who cares, it's delicious! We seem to connect, good eye contact, both intelligent (engineers).

For the second date we went to get tea and back to my place for a movie. Put my arm around her... 1.5 hours of arm numbness later, we call it a night. Everything seems to be going well.

I hadn't heard from her in a couple days, and sent her a text message and played the waiting game. Evidently she had a test and lab stuff and that's why there was lack of contact.

To play around I replied: Here I was thinking you were captured by pirates, reality sounds much less exciting.

My question: Is the pirate thing the kind of comment I should be making? I have a plainly visible lego model of a star destroyer in my room, so it's not like my quirkiness should be surprising. Any input?

Also, I'm not a heavy drinker, she doesn't drink. FYI, both of us are virgins, she doesn't know that I know, and that's why I am taking it slow (should I speed it up?)
