Playing one on one sports: Let her win, beat her?

I play pool at a relatively competitive level. I live near a city that is known for its level of talent, and while I'm not anywhere near the best in my area, I am much better than most. I've won my fair share of tournaments, and win more than I lose when I do gamble. There are very few girls who play pool competitively and even then I'm way better than almost every last one of them. Not bragging, just telling you what sort of skill I have here so you have some context.

Most girls you meet in bars don't even know how to hold the stick properly. I never challenge a new girl to a game of pool, but when she challenges me I warn her that I cannot and will not go easy on her just because she's a girl. This is true, because pool's mental game is very similar to that of PU. What I don't tell her is that I'm not going to destroy her, because there isn't anything riding on the game so I just can't get my mental state where it needs to be to play my A game.

What I do is this, I play the game purely to have fun. If the girl is good/lucky I'll tighten up, but if she's not I'm freewheeling it and taking shots I wouldn't take in a tournament. She sees me having fun and this is fun for her and we both have fun. Plus, there's plenty of opportunity for negging, kino and all that stuff.

Whatever you do, don't try to teach her to play unless she asks you to. If she's got some talent, you might suggest she take some lessons to give her the opportunity to ask you to teach her. This increases the opportunity for kino.

tl;dr Have fun, she will too and she will like you for it whether you win or not.

Who the winner is does not matter.

Share in the experience with her of playing together and having fun, don't care about the score so much.

Win or lose, all that matters is that you both have fun. If you're obviously way better and completely destroy her, she won't have fun. Bring down your game so she can get better and have some good exchanges going.
