Don't focus so much on her being indian. She's a person like everyone else and I'm sure she doesn't want to be asked a million questions about her heritage, unless she brings it up in conversation.

Also you don't need to impress her in any way other than you being you. If you're authentic and respectful it shows and she'll be attracted to you because you're you and not because you're a "white guy".

Just ask her as you would anyone else. If she says no take the L, if yes, then you're golden. If you say she's flirting then there's no harm in taking a shot.

But leave the "taking her back to your place" in her hands. She needs to be able to make the decision to come to your place and only she knows what may be the best way to deal with her parents.

And reminder to all white people. Stop being so worried about a person's background as if they're worlds different. It's a turn off and it reinforces the "otherness" to the other person to your own romantic detriment and not to mention that it's subversively racist. Everyone's human, just act respectfully, and if she's cool with you; she knows how to handle her parents and also show you her background herself.
