In Myster Method, you are supposed to appear disinterested in an individual in order to build attraction, once this is achieved you can start displaying interests. According to RSD, you CAN display interests upfront so long as you are confident and high value. However, many books on sucessful people say you should use rapport building techniques from the beginning of a relaitonship (smiling, direct eye contact, etc)

The book I have claims that showing interests works because it makes people feel special so they associate those good feelings with you. Does anyone know what the pshychological reasoning behind disinterest is? Is it simply a "I can't have it so I want it" type thing?
