So I'm going to be a freshman at a big uni this fall and I'm trying to meet some girls before getting on campus so I know some right away. My question is, how should I go about talking to these girls now and this summer?

I know I have to show some interest but it's tough over Facebook, but I'm not trying to get friend zoned. I have no plans for meeting up with these girls before school starts, too. So can I just bail at anytime and ask for their number and tell them I'll hit them up in the fall? Seems kinda shady. Let me know what you guys think, thanks.
