There is a basic concept in pickup that we don't buy drinks for girls. So no prosecco or anything else. If you're winging for guys and pushing them to buy drinks for girls, I wonder who's side you're really on.

I honestly thought I was helping and your message can help me see where you're coming from. I think there's definitely a lack of background context here. I buy my own drinks and pay for the guy's, not because I'm desperate, but because of the very idea you have: girls leeching. I meant this post as if you do happen to order her a drink, stand out a bit. It really works. At least for a lot of people I know. I'm sorry if you thought differently (which I can understand why now), my sole intention was to help. Especially for the really shy guys out there.

Buying drinks for girls is sort of like you're trying to get their attention by buying them a small gift. That puts them above you in social status, which doesn't usually work out well.
This is a matter of some difference of opinion in the pickup community, but I've seen social interactions with a girl die once I buy them a drink. It's like they're trying to get you to do something for them, and when you do it, you're no longer a challenge. They figure they could get you to do anything they want, and they're no longer interested because you are a chump.
Anyway, it's good if there is some parity, like you get this round, I'll get the next, and then hey, no problem. Or there are times when you try to isolate a girl, "hey come to the bar with me, I'm going to buy a drink" and then you look like a doofus if you don't offer her a drink.
I never heard of Prosecco but I'll keep an eye out, but jeez, your OP sounds like a commercial. But hey, nice enthusiasm, and thanks for going out there as a wing and helping your social circle connect and hook up.
