Late this summer, I met a girl at a dance event, friended her on Facebook, and started messaging back and forth a few times on some subjects we clicked on, especially within the last month. While I'm 23 and one of the more extroverted people that I know, I'm a newb when it comes to the dating/open pursuit of women. I grew up in a more conservative household where such approaches were not talked of nor encouraged.

Anyway, she and I are in the same swing/blues dance community in a certain city but we go on different nights usually. A couple of weeks ago, she made an appearance on Tuesday night (when I go), and made a point to seek me out as soon as I was freed from a partner. We danced and chit-chatted twice during the evening. As she left for the night, she came behind me as I was conversing with a small group of people, wished me good night, and slid her hand across my shoulder in a lingering fashion. A few days before this, I'd ventured on seddit and was thinking to ask her out, but I wimped out.

Fast forward to last Sunday: I go on the night when she usually goes. Guess what? She's there. We approach each other, she's coming beyond the typical personal space; she was going for the hug, I think. However, I went with a high five. Dammit.
