I can't give you any advice for clinical depression or if you're medicated but ...

I think the road to getting good with girls starts with first getting good with your family, then with your oldest and closest friends, then with people at work and school, and so on until you are good with attractive womem.

"Good" meaning, being nice, fun, friendly and a good listener.

Literally: start with your Mom. Sister. All the males in your life. Boss. Customers. Classmates.

You can't segment your life and save up all your charm for hot babes.

First off, I hope your condition has improved because that would be my priority if I was you.

Assuming you're in a good enough place to try to go out socializing, I would encourage you to step far out of your comfort zone. Do something completely new and to do it on your own

Maybe go to a concert by yourself, go to a nightclub by yourself, sign up for a gym, start going for regular bike rides around your town, anything that you can do to get out of the house.

I recommend doing it solo so that you have the opportunity to meet new people every time you go out. Keep in mind that your mission should be to enjoy your time out of the house as opposed to anything regarding other people

It may seem weird at first but you'll learn how to start conversations naturally and to read people. The key is to not expect anything from other people. When you strike up a conversation with a random person, they aren't expecting to get anything from you but to shoot the breeze a little bit. You're having fun, not looking for a best man for your wedding.

So how do you start a conversation with a stranger?

If there's something about them that stands out, you can start there. "Hey I've never green olive green Chuck Taylor's before! That's cool!"

Or there's the old fashioned way which I'm used to doing. Anywhere you go, you'll make eye contact with people by accident. If you do catch someone's eyes just smile and say "Hi, how are ya?" You'll be amazed by how many people are willing to shoot the breeze with you once they've been assured that you're not a creep or tryna sell them something

If you start following this advice you're going to feel like a scared bunny in the middle of a freeway at first because you may not know how to interact with people. But I guarantee that you'll eventually become a very approachable person once you master going out for no other reason than to have fun

These are all pointers that I use naturally, so this is more of an assessment of how I approach socializing. I always go out solo and always go home having had a few good conversations

Just go out and have fun, people will take notice and ask you if they can join in on the fun
