You know, before I even read your reply, I wanted to tell you that thinking your situation with ____ girl is somehow unique or different from others' is exactly called oneitis. Not oneitis 2.0.

I still feel that way after reading your post.

And, oneitis, at its heart, is just a cop-out. As long as you have your oneitis, you don't have to strike out on your own to get what you want. It's not your responsibility to get what you want, because it's "out of your control."

Here's the thing: what you've gone through, including the part about LSD, I guarantee you that hundreds of guys on Seddit have gone through.

So, let's continue riding that ego-death to self-empowerment, and have you realize that your situation is not unique, and has a prescribed remedy:

Do what's right for YOU. What's right for you has nothing to do with this one girl.

Think of the odds. Of all the things you could be doing with your life over the course of time, you think this one girl, out of billions of people, is somehow of the highest priority?

Nope.

Your life is in your hands. There is nothing in it but space. In that space, you have freedom. Build something out of your life.

Whenever I see a picture of her with her boyfriend, it feels like my emotions go batshit insane.

You're young. We've been there. You'll get over it... as long as you realize that you're not the only one who's ever felt that way about a girl.

I wrote an article on Table Theory about this. Don't think that it doesn't apply to you.

Also, remember that you're 18. You probably hate hearing that, but you are. You seem really responsible for an 18 year old, having a job and living on your own, but these feelings are still NEW to you. I'm almost 27. I been feeling that shit on and off for 10 years. Difference is that now I'm old enough to know that it's not that special, it just IS. And I don't let it put me in stupid situations anymore.

Think of it this way - imagine if, at 18 years old, you got your first boner. Ever. You'd be like "HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THIS?!"

Yeah. I was like that. But, after 24 years of boners, now it's just kinda there. It's still awesome, but, you know. I'm used to it.
