It depends on the girl. Personally I wouldn't be bothered by silence unless you didn't talk to me for a week-ish. Unless there was an argument! But really, if you just had a regular conversation with her I don't see that you should feel forced to.

But why don't you text her that you want to talk in person?

You are a busy guy with an exciting life full of important things, and sometimes a girl doesn't make it to the top of the list. That is the frame you need. Don't apologize for being too busy to talk to her. Just make sure she knows that you have priorities and you're calling her NOW and that's your priority NOW.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow" isn't the same as "I'll call you tomorrow."
