Me(slowing stride incase this works) - hey how are you?

Her- good.. ( immediately smiles more ) and you?

Me - ( critical fault error in brain synapse relay 112 thru 300 ) good and you?

Her - ( shakes her head, smile to confused expression - awkward meter maxed out ) you just asked me that .. (Increases speed past)

Don't be like me in that moment, OP. It will haunt you.

I have the same problem. I am working little by little to overcome this.

Right now, in order to build my way up to a working conversation, I plan on randomly complimenting girls. As I am walking by, just drop an "excuse me, I like your outfit" and just keep going. Expect nothing in return. All you are doing is trying to add value to the world around you. She'll probably go home thinking about the one guy who complimented her. She might wonder why you complimented her and did not ask her our or for her number, but for right now we are working on baby steps.

Just go compliment random strangers. Men and women.

The goal is to be come so comfortable handing out genuine compliments, that you can do it to anyone at anytime. Eventually when you see your dream girl, you will be able to just easily say hi and engage in conversation.

You have to do it lots of times. It's the only way. I used to find this really hard, now I only find it a little hard. One day I may find it easy. I just did it a couple of hundred times to make it easier. I've finally slept with a girl I met on the street (after years of picking them up in clubs and online), and I got there by repetition.

I got coaching from a day game coach and that helped.

find all reason that could prevent you from doing it.

-First time? -Fear of rejection? -etc

then find ways to fix it.

I wouldn't recommend it. Typically girls walking on the street have a place to go. Nobody wants to be picked up or asked on a date when they are in the middle of going somewhere.

You will get more luck if she's on public transportation like bus/subway.

If you had read the sidebar posts, you should have noticed that you can't approach them from their front or back. Maybe because you did that before, you had a high rejection rate. Try road crossings for approaches from side. This will lower your rejection rate.

Start small, real small. Give a plain compliment and don't expect a god damn thing. In fact, you could even start by blurting out a compliment and totally bitching out and walking away.

Why? Because it gets easier. Bitch out a few times, and you'll be more comfortable. Before you know it it's second nature.. But you've gotta JUMP IN to learn to swim.

I approach girls on the street walking all the time. You just got to go for it. Personally I think direct is the way to go. If you really want to master this skill then go to daygame.com. Also if you record yourself it can help a lot to see where you are messing up.

You can use the indirect "do you know where the nearest starbucks is?". Being direct yields better I say "hey I just saw you walking by and thought you looked really nice... And I had to come and meet you"
