Today was the first time I aproached someone!

Sorry, english is my second language and im on mobile, but enjoy.

To my Person (M/19) looks like 17 on good days, never had a GF.

Today was the first time I actually aproached someone. Im a magician so everyone thinks its super easy for me, but its as hard for me as it is for everyone else. If someone approaches its super easy, then my stage persona can take over and deal with them. So pretty big time for me approaching someone.

Anyways I was waiting with a friend in a crowd for a fire-juggling show to begin. As I looked over my shoulder I saw two girls that stand behind us and sometime listen. There were 5 minutes left to wait so I thought fuck it, turned around and asked „do you want me to shorten the time as we are waiting for the show to beginn?“ They said yes so I did some magic for them when the show was about to start I said that it was very nice with them and that I hope they enjoy the show. My friend, who stand next to me, realised that I wasnt going to ask them for any phone numbers, so he quickly handed out one of my Business-Cards to the cute one of them.

Im not thinking that she will reply to that, but it was deffenely a great step in the right direction for me. Now I just need to have the balls to ask for the phone number.

Or does anyone of you have any tips on what to change at this?

Yeah, ask for the number next time. There really isn’t anything else you could do. Awkward shit getting your business card given to a girl at a fire juggling show — not to mention is a total wtf moment for her.

My one and only tip on what to change: Either ask for her number/social media or whatever, or just let it be. Having your business card handed to a girl by someone other than you is weird, but don’t fault your friend for trying. In any case, just ask for the number. It’s ludicrously easy yet you’re making it much harder for yourself. Like goddamn, the girls will probably appreciate you having the confidence and assertiveness to ask for their numbers. At the very least, get their names dammit.

You did the hard part of opening them, I’d say you already have the balls to get their numbers. You don’t need any ridiculous excuse, or any stupid lie to make it seem like you’re getting their number for any other reason than wanting to see them again. Just do it man.

No problem. And good, I’m relieved you got their names right off the bat. If it felt unnatural then it probably was.

That said, there is a time when it is natural. During your interaction with them, it might’ve been before the show began or right after, preferably when you’re about to leave. Either way, you should have done it.

Don’t beat yourself up over it; focus on making changes on your next set. You did well on opening them and getting their names, but need work escalating/moving beyond that initial point. There’s many ways to do that, but ultimately it’s up to you to experiment and find what works for you. There’s nothing easy about this; expect it to be hard work, requiring you to put effort in. But, in the end it all pays off when you’re able to be totally confident and in control around women
