How to pick up at a dance studio?

I'm a dance instructor. I'm not going to say that knowing your shit doesn't help, but I will say the biggest reason the girls are more interested in us is that we have no issues asking any of them to dance. Even if you don't know what you're doing, ask a girl to dance, admit that you have no idea, and ask her to show you some steps if she is better at it than you. Your main focus while at the studio should be getting better at dancing and having fun, not sitting down and wondering which girl to hit on. The biggest thing to realize is that all of the girls there want to dance, and they can have just as much fun teaching a newbie as dancing with an instructor. Don't take no for an answer, put out your hand, tell her to come dance with you, and lead her out to the floor.

But, it never seems that women are all that interested in the guys at dance unless they are instructors... how do you show them your also worth looking at? ...and also that you're not gay. Anyone have any experience in this?

First off, what kind of dance classes? If you're there for dance classes, depending on the dance, a lot of dance communities don't take kindly to sloppy PUAs. If you can work it in a smooth way, then go for it but if you slip up, you'll be ostracized. (Read: People are there to DANCE, so if you pick up on girls in a way that demonstrates that you're not there to dance but to focus on pick-up, then you're going to have a bad time. This doesn't mean that you can't pick up on girls at dance classes, just that you will risk coming off poorly if your approaches interrupt the flow of their dancing/learning experience.)

You don't need to "show them" that you're worth looking at. They'll look at you and notice you if you've got your shit in order.

I've had my most success in a dance studio, but as others have said you have to go there to actually DANCE. Don't get me wrong, you need to have the very basics of seduction (eye contact, being fun, not creepy etc). I also read it's a hip-hop studio, I think the same rules apply. Just be friends with everybody and you'll see results.
