So I met this girl though a classmate. She was in a relationship but we hung out with the friend who introduced us (Bob) and other mutual. She never got her bf to hangout with Bob and co. She broke up within a month with her bf. We started messaging much more than usual about random stuff.

We started hanging out more as a group and people though she was dating me. She made a few joked before clarifying nothings going on.

On one hand I think she is shit testing me by saying I would never consider going out with a frat or abc boy. But she keeps initiating messages. She made me a new nickname that only she uses for me. She holds long eye contact and is sometimes the only one laughing at what I say/joke. I havent noticed whether her pupils dilated or not (too distracted).

She also keeps buying me snacks when we hang out near campus. I have also paid for her but the number of times she offered and bough is greater. She also calls me a maniac but then says something positive like a smart maniac or thoughtful maniac.

She recently wanted to go for an event but others had already been so it was the two of us. She flaked out but offered detailed reasons and I messaged her a thumbs up. She wanted to continue the conversation because she was trying to tell me about her day. I did not act very interested.

Am I mistaking friendliness for interest.
