So my university classes started back up again and I have been able to obtain some phone numbers. However, I don't know what the standard is for texting. I consider myself very good at talking to girls face to face, but I HATE texting because it is hard to portray tone and such through messages.

Now if there is one standard I know, it is that when you get a girl's number, you are not supposed to text her that same day. However, I don't know when you are supposed to start texting after you get a girl's number. I am texting a bunch of girls, but never everyday. Sometimes I would text a girl 2 days in a row, then don't text her at all the following week. Then when I text them again, they usually respond back fairly immediately. I am assuming what I am doing is "in the wrong". I just don't want to look clingy and desperate, so I am overly conscious about it.

I am making this post because this happened to me today:

I met a girl in one of my classes a few days ago. I eventually got her number and did not text her at all for 2 days. When I saw her in my class 2 days later, she didn't say hi and didn't sit next to me. Then I said "hey! did you forget what I looked like ?" as a joking kind of way and then she got up , packed all her things, and sat next to me. I am assuming she didn't originally say hi because I didn't text her at all ? I don't know.

So am I texting in a wrong way ? What can I do as far as texting goes ? I guess it is important to mention that my life is really busy/hectic with all my hard classes and such that I don't like texting really.
