Regardless of who is more alpha, this is Jon Stewart's show. He has a whole audience ready to suck hit cock as soon as he asks for it. You can't expect him to be anything other than completely in charge and in power. I've read research that has proven, unequivically, that people have a advantage when they need to perform on home turf, and not just psychologically, but also physically (although that's not relevant in this context).

To consider who is more "alpha" I encourage you to imagine JT and Jon Stewart in more difficult frame-challenging situation than a talk-show, where it is mutually-beneficial for neither of them to break each other's frame. I guarantee that in more high-pressure situations that Jon, while he has a very strong frame, would fold faster than JT.

Jon Stewart is an asshole and his shtick only works when he's got an audience that idolizes him. I agree with his politics, I'm a liberal myself, but his shtick embarrasses me and makes me ashamed to have him on my side.
